When did the time take over When did we stop having fun Down on the bank of the river in the sun Dipping our toes in the water that's Since long gone with the snow Now as the days are getting shorter It's you feeling low So take some time for me please As I recall how you managed with ease When times were hard and our legs got weak You'd always tell me to wear my heart on my sleeve Now days come and go like the weather The lucky ones go out with a bow And I tell the creator I love her even now But you greet me with care come the morning When I'm not the one who's in need I offer you these words of wisdom That you gave to me Just take some time for me please As I recall how you managed with ease When times were hard and our legs got weak You'd always tell me to wear my heart on my sleeve Just take some time for me please As this sun does set there's a chill in the breeze And though times still get hard know that i'll never leave You'll always tell me to wear my heart on my sleeve

Taking every day as it comes We'll go our separate ways when it comes For how long lasts forever anyway We'll find our forever someday It's not always so easy being young When working for the man is all that comes As we try so hard to not be led astray We'll find our forever someday Taking every day as it comes We'll go our separate ways when it comes For how long lasts forever anyway We'll find our forever someday

When we met last year in May My head was going crazy I didn't know up from down or left from right So you brought me back to earth Calmed my mind and made me laugh 'Til three months in, when I found it was our last night You said I'm leaving in the morning, I'll be gone by midday I've a one way ticket booked and a backpack But I won't ask for anyone to wait for me So I'll hope that you're still here when I come back Now it's my turn to give the news 'Cause It's my turn to leave I'm going away for two years in the cold It's gonna be hard for us to cope But I'll try my best because I know The times that we have shared are worth keeping I'll say I'm leaving in the morning, I'll be gone by midday I've a one way ticket booked and a backpack But no I won't ask for anyone to wait for me So I'll hope that you're still here when I come back We've gone our separate ways But when we talk we talk for days We still stay up way too late in the evening I'm not saying it's much fun So let's not walk, let's run 'Cause what's the point in trying without believing After all that we've been through So I'm still leaving in the morning, I'll be gone by midday I've a one way ticket booked and a backpack But no I won't ask for anyone to wait for me So I'll hope that you're still here when I come back

Reason 03:37
Take off your coat and sit down Your diamond cloak, just sit down What should you say to emperor with no clothes Or the children with no hope How do you reason with the devil I'm staring him straight in the eye How can you live as a hypocrite Say change must come, but make none yourself How can you claim that you care But turn a blind eye when it's there Are you saving face? How do you reason with the devil I'm staring him straight in the eye So pay your dues, your fair share I won't ask for much, it's not unfair I am no optimist, but to expose you for this Is justified How do you reason with the devil I'm staring him straight in the eye

Down the drive shrouded in trees The old and familiar scent of conkers and leaves They fall every year but the colours still get me every time There she is, waiting for me All curled up and cosy, on her favourite settee I give her a cuddle and drink my cup of tea as I rest For I've travelled the world From New York to Rome I've seen wonder and grace But it's good to be home It's good to be home Sunday morning, loudly awake Fast up the stairs, as much noise he can make We'll play hide and seek til our bodies start to ache All day long Candles lit as it darkens so soon With cake on the table and an old Irish tune We speak of our weeks to come And welcome the moon in the sky, oh my 'Cause I've travelled the world From New York to Rome I've seen wonder and grace But it's good to be home It's good to be home But as always, it comes an end I must leave so goodbye But I'll be home again soon my friends The weekend has flown by

---------------------------------------------------------------

This EP was produced entirely during the coronavirus lockdown. Like many, I found I had no job at the end of March, and had to move back in with my parents. With my sudden and unplanned spare time, I got busy recording this collection of 5 songs. Some were written 4 years ago, and some just 4 weeks ago! The songs follow themes of hope amid uncertainty, and cherishing those close to us.
