Down the hill there's a wishing well
Where summer months get lost
Follow the path to an old brass bell
For that is where our lines first crossed
Set sail off on the water pond
And take the railway road
There we kissed under the big oak tree
Unto me my first love was bestowed

Where the landscape blurred like watercolours
As far as the eye could tell
I never saw someone as beautiful
As she danced at the wishing well

We took off feeling invincible
Like wildfire on a desert hill
Nine months on she left without a word
So into the dark I fell
When cloud surrounded, and took its hold
the light faded out to black
For my mind just couldn't leave the past behind
I said "oh lord please take me back"

Three years now since that summertime
I hope we meet again some day
The stars came out from the darkened clouds and
